Becoming A Regular Habit...
It's not always easy getting these two down for nap time. They want to keep playing. However, if I let them nap together, both of them eagerly rush into one or the other's bedroom to take a nap. Usually I have to go in several times to scold them for talking, but eventually they fall asleep.
They had started off laying down on the bed, but wound up sleeping like this:

A Good Night's Sleep
Little boy has been waking up in the middle of the night, asking to sleep in our bed. How could I say no to that cute little face? After the first incident, he's been asking to sleep in our bed more often.
I know this phase does not last long, and he's so sweet! He likes to snuggle right up so our heads are touching, or sometimes he'll want to hold my hand while he falls asleep. I'll take losing out on a good night's sleep to get some more snuggling Z's with my little boy.
Ryan took this silly photo of us one evening.
On rare occasions, we'll find both kids with us! Ah.. these are the days to cherish. At least I try to remind Ryan of that when we're both sleep deprived.. =P

Sleeping Arrangements
She's grown so big, it's starting to get a little cramped like that...

but then again, there's still plenty of room in the crib!

No problem. We can totally fit two more kids in there.

Hair Does What It Does
While visiting with her cousins T and K, Em had such a good time that she would be wiped-out during her naps. Too bad it was only in her naps that she would be wiped-out on. Night time sleep was a different story, as she woke 2-3 times a night for most of the time we were visiting family. Even in her sleep, her hair continued to display the day's wild fun...

Just the Girls
Em and I spent four days on our own while daddy went out of town. While I'm sure Em noticed daddy was not home through her constant looking around for him, she was on her best behavior.. mostly.

We stuck to her normal schedule, playing with toys, tummy time, and lots of rolling around.
She tries to roll everywhere - on the changing table, swaddled in bed, etc., so now it's an absolute to keep an eye and hand on her at all times.

In fact, she loves being on her tummy so much that bedtime has become a little difficult lately. She will roll over even when swaddled and sometimes on an off night, she'll struggle so hard that she'll break free of her swaddle and somehow manage to mangle her neatly combed hair. Must say.. this girl has determination. This is how I found her one morning... not the little baby burrito that she initially was.

The family was also in town, so Em and I got a chance to go out and spend some time with Grandma, Grandpa, aunts, uncles, and her cousins.

Em had a great time, and I had got a few hours of babysitting help.

Sleeping Milestone
Baby Em hit a milestone a few weeks ago when we moved her into her own room to sleep. She had been sleeping there during the day for several weeks, but we finally decided to cut the cord completely and have her sleep there all of the time. The transition for her was seemless as she really doesn't seem to care much where she sleeps. I think it was more difficult for Momma to have her precious baby sleeping all alone in a separate room. But as you can see, she has the company of her rainforest mobile, owl, and wall animals.
Yup, that's her leg sticking out. She's a restless sleeper, and she often frees at least one leg from the swaddle. She also rotates up to 90 deg, and twists her head back and forth 180 deg. All that movement is wearing a bald spot on the back of her head. So the Mohawk will probably never extend below the top of her head :^(
