Black Mountain Revisited

2nd day on our local trip with Roger, we climbed at Black Mountain. Nevermind my raspy voice commentary.. I had once again, gotten sick on this trip.

Kids took a turn at trying the moves on my nemesis of a project, Gypsy's Day Out.

Roger finally got it! He was determined and found beta that worked for him. That throw to the top is a hard move to stick. That's where I keep coming off as it's pretty much at my max reach.

And this one is a classic! Tour De France is on Ryan's project list. This boulder is such a sight to see, with clean diagonal lines seemingly there as its decoration. And the sunset and view is super amazing. It was fun for all of us to just hang out there.

Kids once again wiped out on another fun adventure.

Feels like Summer

First of the summer heat waves! This kiddie tub looks much smaller than it use to... Not too bad though, it's lasting us 3 summers now for water play.

An Oldie, but Goodie

This was from last summer of 2016 when Liam went to a Super Heroes Camp. He looks so little in these photos.

There were lots going on in the camp. They made super heroes capes and masks that they wore all week long.

There were classes on various subjects.. this one looks like drawing. They also learned about real-life superheroes, police, fire fighters, people that daily do things that help people and save lives.

There were games and sports... or in Liam's case, he sometimes likes to sit and observe.

They learned about animals and got to pet a few critters. This part was one of his favorites.

In fact, he asked if he could have *this* as a pet (*This* is a Madagascar Hissing Cockroach!

A leopard Bengal cat is okay though...

Coloring..

The kids took care of the garden, by watering the plants and feeding the chickens.

And they put on a musical production at the end of the week.

Sleeping In = Furniture Rearrangement

Backtracking to earlier, during the start of summer...
The kids wake up before we do nowadays, and on days when they have a couple of wake hours before us, this is what happens.

But how can I be mad at them when they are reading on their own??!

Oh yeh, that's right. It's a mess! I believe this creation is a two person car... or a train. Definitely some automotive vehicle that's for SuperHeroes.

On another weekend, I beat them to it and used a toy Build and Play Fort Construction set the kids received last Xmas as a gift. Fort success!! Minimal furniture rearrangement!

Kids loved it and played it in for a few hours.

Liam enjoying the fort - laying down while eating strawberries and contemplating the meaning of the fort...

It was fun for a few hours, and then it was more fun tearing it apart and building something else!

And the most recent weekend morning wake up findings. It's their home, compartmentalized for functionality.

The kids win. Maybe I'll give them back some of their toys!

Summer Days Fun

Summer vacation for the kiddos has begun!

We went to the faux-beach, where they played with the faux-beach toys...

They literally played for hours before water restrictions kicked in (aka 3 buckets of water later) and moved on to some suntanning and drying up time.

Then it was nap time... kids went down pretty quick. Buckets of water play and sun apparently does that to you.

The two kiddos are pretty inseparable. They always play together and come up with things that drive mama mad. They always fight too and push each others buttons.. A LOT. Regardless, they are still always together. Today, they both wanted to nap together, so I let them.

After nap, it was more outdoor fun.

Climbing trees and pretending to be monkeys.

"Hear me roar!"

And the day isn't over until there's some kind of dirt, sticks, leaves construction. Here's their summer time Xmas tree.

And some jungle gym.

The two of them entertain each other all the time. So it makes my job much easier. I don't even have to push them on the swing sometimes!

Once Ryan is done developing an even bigger, cooler play area for us... I foresee we will rarely leave home!

Summer lovin'!!
