A Bobbin'

Girlie got her first major haircut.

Liam had to watch from behind the baby jail gates.

Ryan cut a good 6-7 inches off.

Ta-da!!

Emilia is very happy with her new haircut, and proud of her daddy's work. She wouldn't even let the nanny do a touch up to straighten it up a little. =)

Hairlicious!!

Back in the day, Em was channeling the Mr. T and occasionally, Flock of Seagulls, look. Liam has his own style and prefers rocking to "Dancing with Myself", aka the Billy Idol.

The Kiddies

Some recent photos of the kiddies. Liam is growing fast! He's put on some nice baby weight and has the cute baby chub going. I love his hair. He has the natural rocker 'do. Just like Emilia's back when she was this age. He likes direct interaction - eye contact, being held - and gets excited when we carry a monosyllabic conversation back and forth with him. Yup.. that's my little man.

Hair Does What It Does

While visiting with her cousins T and K, Em had such a good time that she would be wiped-out during her naps. Too bad it was only in her naps that she would be wiped-out on. Night time sleep was a different story, as she woke 2-3 times a night for most of the time we were visiting family. Even in her sleep, her hair continued to display the day's wild fun...

Bad Hair Day

Sometimes you wake up, and it just does what it wants to do.

But what the heck, I'm cute anyway.

Daddy fixed it, but I like it better the way it was before.

Mr. T Ain't Got Nothin'

Ms. Em shows Mr. T how it's really done
"I pity the fool!"

Most people work hard to maintain their tough, mohawk image with hair products, metal bling accessories, etc. Ms. Em however has an original, all natural 2" high mohawk.

I'm not sure when her hair started going upright. It was a gradual progression from first a few strands up, then some more, and then whoosh - the whole mid-section. For a while I tried towel drying her hair down, but then I thought, why not leave it be? After all, how often can one sport a natural mohawk while growing up?

And her hair gets tons of comments from friends and strangers alike. Its a great conversation topic and I even have moms of 6+ month old babies telling me of their jealousy for such abundant locks for their baby.

Her hair has been compared to Mr.T, Elvis-King of Rock, and Turk (from Disney's Tarzan II).

Elvis' Jailhouse Rock

Not only does she have lots of hair and long strands, a mohawk with hefty sideburns, but she also has highlighted tips, usually a finished product of chemical dyes of hair salons, but alas, her muff top that we so affectionately like to pat is just a natural by-product of her being the Ms. Em.
