Em finally met Calvin, born just two weeks earlier than her, and it was oh so fun putting them together. While there isn't too much shared play going on, they were definitely interested in looking at each other and grabbing. Yes, the first stages of social interaction development! Ryan's interpretation is that the moms were the one having fun play time with the babies. That is true too. =) But just take a look at them! So cute.. and doubly cute together!
Rewind to the start....
Em's first flight, a mere a 3.5 hour trip, or in Em time, is a little over a full cycle of sleep-play-eat time. She was not as amused as I was in documenting her flight.
She did fall asleep shortly after take-off, and in daddy's arms while burying her face into his elbow. Em was pretty good and slept for ~45 minutes like that and woke up with a nice, sleepy, red face.
The nap resulted in her being wide awake and full of energy. So much that she booted momma off her seat so that she could have more play room.
After a day of traveling, meeting up with Mike, a wonderful friend of Ryan's for dinner (we should have taken a photo!), and some hairy, scary onset of pelting rain and lightning storm, we made it to the lake house for some good weekend hanging out fun!
The dads with their little ones.
Third times a charm! This is the 3rd time Em has met Chuckie. The first two times ended in tears, but look here! I think she likes him. Chuckie is getting good at the kid thing.
Babies definitely know other babies. She focused on Cal, maybe assessing whether she'd take him at an arm wrestling match or hair pulling match. =} Em did a lot of staring at Calvin.
Calvin did a lot of staring too.
Em was so drawn by Calvin's irresistible eyes AND his great eating habits (hopefully some influence there will rub off on her!), they became fast friends.
Indeed, so much fun and so happy together!
