Our neighbor, Mike, is a photography aficionado and Canon DSLR owner, which makes it fun for me to have someone to chat with about the latest camera gear gadgets. Anyhow, Mike was awesome enough to spend a morning taking some family photos for us. We had two remote flashes going on, a kids play-date during setup in-between time, and good wintery outdoor weather. Thanks Mike! Here are the few photos we picked out.
I had a little photo fun with Liam one morning and did a short photo session of him wearing a very cute onesie given to him by aunt Carey and a cute hat from surf gal, Amy.
Finally got around to putting together a photo album for Emilia's first year with lots of familiar photos from this blog. At some point, maybe in a few years, I'll get around to putting together our wedding album which nobody has seen photos from yet! But for now, here's a look back at how quick the year went and how much she's grown!

While the cousins were here visiting, we had the special privilege of having my cousin-in-law, Christine, take newborn photos of Em. Christine is a photographer that specializes in baby and family photography. With a limited amount of time and light and with an impromptu McGyver setup, Christine managed to get a variety of photos of Em and the family. It was fun and a learning experience to watch how she worked with Em in creating poses and capturing the photos. Definitely not an easy task with the uncertainties of a baby.
It took a while to get Em's birth announcement together.. in between feedings, sleep, and chores. Here are the extra photos (or alternative photos) for the full version of the birth announcement if it wasn't limited to size.
